did you guys know that in the Harry Potter films Lavender Brown was originally played by two Black actresses? Kathleen Cauley for Sorceror’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets, and then Jennifer Smith in Prisoner of Azkaban.
Then once it became apparent that she was going to be a major love interest of Ron Weasley in the sixth movie, The Half-Blood Prince, Lavender Brown up and turned into white actress Jessie Cave?
And mind you, Lavender’s race is never specified in the books, and her role in the films was a non-speaking one up until the sixth movie, when puberty suddenly turns her into a teenage white girl.
